Shelia
Young

Yoga Instructor

Sheila has been a dedicated practitioner of yoga for almost a decade now. After retiring from her public school teaching career, she found yoga and absolutely fell in love with the practice. As she began taking more classes, she discovered that she wanted to know and understand more about the foundations of this life-changing practice. This eventually led her to embark upon a year-long yoga teacher training program. When not on the mat, you can find Sheila tending to her garden and helping others learn to grow through her work as part of the Texas Master Gardener Association.

Favorite Poses

Pigeon is my favorite pose. I love hip openers and I enjoy the stillness that comes from holding pigeon pose. As an instructor, I love learning ways to modify poses to make yoga accessible to everyone, including those who may be brand new to the practice. My goal as a teacher is to help my students feel physically and  mentally well-balanced when they leave the mat.
